I’m kinda shocked that no one has really picked up on it, but I kind of absolutely adore the fact that, in this show that has heavily utilized witch imagery and constant allusions to the Tempest, which is absolutely full of magic, that the show’s main conflict ends by Suletta casting basically a no-bullshit magic spell.
Such a magic spell that one of the results, Ericht’s survival, is outright a complete mystery. Because it’s magic.
Is it a little corny? Maybe, but you have to have that level of corny sometimes.
I am LOVING the sister-in-law dynamic between Eri and Miorine in the epilogue, and I can’t imagine how many times they’ve had this weird ass conversation.
“Why are we doing this new and crazy thing that your wife, my sister, planned this week?”
“HOW ARE YOU EVEN FUCKING REAL AND ALIVE RIGHT NOW?!”
Are they planning to get her out of there. Does she have video games in there? Does she still have Suletta’s VN collection? Has Mio ever forgotten to switch her off before she and Suletta fuck? Has Mio picked out far cuter stuffed animals over the years, and Eri tries vainly to get her consciousness put into a teddy bear instead of the butthole keychain? Does she have to be with Mio because she swears in front of the children Suletta works with? Does she get enrichment? Do you think she gaslights TSA workers by suddenly talking?
